In today’s talk Uranus in Gemini , Kenan mentioned how streaming platforms have changed our relationship with media. I was surprised to realise that I haven’t bought any DVDs or CDs for a long time. The funny thing is that it also has stopped me from listening to classic music, as I only used to listen to classic music on CDs, now I don’t even own a CD player.
With streaming platforms, we don’t own the physical media, such as CDs or DVDs; we subscribe to channels, and when we stop subscribing, we lose access to those media. 😱
